Well, it was different. I noticed a lot of little things I would not have noticed regularly.  I noticed activity on the ground, what with ants and bugs crawling here and there and everywhere. I heard all sorts of different birds chirping and calling to each other, I knew none of their names. I saw how the sunlight illuminated certain leaves beautifully and shaded others slightly creating a pretty scene. The 15 minutes gave me time to reflect on all the beautiful things God had placed in my own backyard.

A meal totally bought at a Farmers’ Market:
Supper with Fried apple pie, Whole wheat bread, tomatoes,
Squash, Apples, Green beans, and Steamed sweet potatoes,
But what for the protein?
The lady farmer says “the only thing left is duck eggs and pig tongue, And the six duck eggs have been reserved!”
So, for being late we get what we deserved,
In any case we're sure all this is nutritious, and happily it was delicious!

Challenge:  Reuse something that you would normally just recycle.

We typically recycle aluminum cans. For the challenge, (and thanks to Pinterest) we found instructions on how to make the cans into bird feeders. It was an activity we did with our little ones....great fun and the birds seem to like it!

Completed by Jessica: Go canoeing or kayaking

It was so peaceful out on the river. I went canoeing and kayaking. I got to hear nothing but nature on the river and see a Blue Heron and butterflies. I went to the Allegheny National Forest. I think I liked kayaking best. Every time we got towards a bend, I thought about the song from Pocahontas "Just Around the River Bend" which added an extra bit of fun too!

Completed by Jill: Up cycle something you would have thrown away

Describe your experience completing your challenge.
I do this all the time! Most recently I've been recycling materials at work to create new displays. We're recycling old signs and turning them into backing for new exhibits.

Posted by Mary: My touch-nature challenge: not sure if these are native to Ohio, but I'm planting a pepper plant and some marigolds!

Touch Nature challenge:  Hang your laundry up to dry instead of using the dryer.
"What a difference! Spring has come full blown, and to be outside hanging up laundry on the clothesline means feeling the breeze, hearing the birds sing, smelling the aroma of spring.

Challenge:  "Share a memory about a significant landscape"
Jody: I took this on the way home from your opening. I have photographs from the time the kids were little of this tree.

Mark: Why is this called a "Grandfather tree"? I'm not familiar with the term.

Jody: Because that's what I called it. I went there with my kids and when by myself I sat in the tree when going through some transformation in my life.
Now there is a log fence around it, but no signs say don't climb.
