.
Over the years I have often worked directly with others on collaborative projects . These projects--with participants of all ages and levels of experience--have been meaningful and rewarding. Through them, my art has become a dialogue: a place for beginnings, for questions, for experiments and for challenges.
My current project began in 2016, working with community gardeners in Stark County, Ohio. For the Gardening Stories project, I am creating paintings featuring tilled earth, plants , tools, work, fruit, and vegetables. Later in the project, my printed images will inhabit the gardens, starting in the dormant season, where they will slowly be overtaken by vines as the plants grow upwards and fufill the imagined promise of the harvest.
The Gardening Stories project is funded in part by a grant from ArtsinStark.
